About Us

We met in the fall of 2010. Individually, and for varying reasons, we each decided that we needed to go serve for a while by teaching English to children in St. Petersburg, Russia. Once we got there, we were assigned to teach an elementary class together, and teach at a kindergarten on the other side of the city from where we lived. This meant endless hours of planning, commuting, and working together. Not to mention all the touring and sight seeing we got to do when our teaching was done for the day! We quickly developed a close friendship. Spending time together made us each happier than we had ever been or thought we ever could be.

As our time in St. Petersburg wore on, I began to be convinced that nothing would come of this relationship beyond friends. Ray however had a different idea. Just before Thanksgiving, we shared our first kiss and finally told each other how we'd really been feeling all along.

It was all downhill from there, in the best sense possible, of course. When our time in Russia was complete, we flew back to the U.S. not entirely sure how we would proceed with the next few days and weeks. Ray had a job in California, I still had school in Utah. We did know that we were not ready to say goodbye though.

So on New Years Eve, Ray proposed. Three days later he was off to California to start his job, and I was stuck in Utah doing schoolwork. A six month engagement ensued with daily skype calls, and monthly plane rides for a weekend visit. We planned the wedding, and on a beautifully sunny, San Diego day in June, we were married for time and all eternity.

The rest is our history, which we are writing day by day as we embark on our real life adventures.
